Animals have been around for millions of years and it has only been in the past hundred years that man kind has kept animals in cages. Over the years animals, have not just become food but have become entertainment at circuses or wildlife shows and we have learned that we can live with animals such as dogs and cats to be our loyal companions. This is why keeping animals in cages is a cruel thing to do.
Over the years, we have learned that animals can be more than just breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Over the years, we have learned that animals can be our life, long companions and we can live together in harmony.
Over the years, we have learned that using animals for our own entertainment is not cruel but it is cruel, 'behind the scenes', to keep them in small, cramped cages with barely any food or water and no mental or physical stimulation.
'
Animals are just like us, they eat, sleep and drink like us. They can run, walk and fly like us. They speak a certain language and they all have male and female genders. So why is it that we have to keep these animals, who are just like us in nearly every single way, in cages? How would you feel being stuck in a small, cramped and uncomfortable cage with little food and water and no one to play with or talk to?
There are examples all over the world where animals have been taking from their homes and then stuck in cages until they can be moved to a new home. For example a group of giant pandas in China were taking from their bamboo forest home and taken into captivity for tourists but were never realised until wildlife experts finally took action. By the time that got them out it took years to rehabilitate and breed the pandas so they could go back into the wild.
It is very cruel to keep animals in cages as they are just like us in many ways and like us need to be able to roam free within their own natural habitat. If we keep more and more animals in cages not only will they become extinct the animals will lose their natural way of life from being in a natural habitat to being locked up in cages.
